One of the more popular islands near Singapore, Batam is frequented with visitors from the island city who come for the bargains and chilled out nightlife more than the beaches and the tranquility. That being said, the island has a spattering of family resorts to cater to the crowd.


Batam may be a small island but its spirit is that of a bustling town with nearly a million inhabitants. Apart from the shopping and nightlife, you will discover a hub of industries, including electronics and ship repair. The island forms an integral part of the growth triangle between Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

By MRT/Boat: 

- Alight at Harbourfront MRT Station (NE1 / CC29) and take exit B
- Take a ferry from Singapore Cruise Centre in HarbourFront Centre
- You will arrive at Batam Centre in 50 minutes
