Kusu Island

Loves: The wishing well.

Our Advice: Explore the Southern Islands (St John’s, Lazarus and Kusu Island) altogether in a day to make the ferry trip worthwhile. Pack your own food and drinks for a picnic as there are no F&B outlets available.

The city-state offers a number of getaways from its energy and buzz. To the south lies one such escape known as Kusu Island. Kusu, a Hokkien word, means turtle or tortoise when translated into English. The island presents a scenic and relaxing environment to tourists. You will discover untouched beaches, oxygen-rich air, and exotic lagoons. Kusu Island also has three Malay shrines ensconced on its hilltop along with a Chinese shrine located closer to the base. Childless couples have been known to visit the Malay temple and pray for an offspring.

Kusu Island is an ideal stop over while exploring the islands near Singapore.
