The Southern Ridges

Loves: HortPark, short for horticulture park, is an underrated destination. As a large gardening hub with beautiful themed gardens, it has been the gorgeous backdrop for many pre-wedding shoots.

Our Advice: For your safety, do not feed the monkeys or openly carry food items that may attract the monkeys.

Embark on a 10km trail across the Southern Ridges which connects a nature reserve and various parks in Southwestern Singapore. Put on your walking shoes and take either of two recommended routes: Mount Faber Park – Telok Blangah Hill Park – Labrador Nature Reserve or Mount Faber Park – Telok Blangah Hill Park – HortPark – Kent Ridge Park (http://bit.ly/1Orch6b). Expect lush greenery, fresh air and sounds of nature as the Southern Ridges is home to a variety of flora and fauna.

Both routes bring you across iconic Henderson Waves Bridge – a wave-like structure consisting of a series of undulating curved 'ribs' that connects Mount Faber Park and Telok Blangah Hill Park. Besides being the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore, the design incorporates space for visitors to sit, lie back and enjoy the serenity.
